
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY TRIAL APPOINTMENT?
We recommend scheduling a makeup trial at least three months prior to your wedding day or special event.
IS A MAKEUP TRIAL NECESSARY?
A makeup trial ensures our client feels comfortable and captivating wearing their day-of look. We will tailor a makeup look designed to reflect your unique personal style and/or wedding theme. It is strongly recommended to bring accessories and photos of attire, photos related to the wedding theme(s), and other related information to the trial.
WHAT PREPARATIONS ARE NEEDED FOR GETTING HAIR AND MAKEUP SERVICES ON MY WEDDING DAY?
WORK STATION: Though MAKEUP MORTICIA has professional lighting and seating, please ensure there is adequate space (including tables or chairs available) with additional lighting to perform makeup services. OUTFIT: Wear a button-down shirt, wrap, robe, or any garment you don't have to pull over your head. HAIR: Wash your hair the night before without conditioner. Photos of desired styles will be helpful. Have your accessories ready with all tags taken off. FACE: The client should be fresh-faced and have previously cleansed with a daily skincare system. Please state any allergies pertaining to any makeup products to your stylist before the service. Advanced facial treatments are not recommended less than 7 days before the event. We would be happy to accommodate special requests such as a tattoo covering or back makeup for a small fee. GRATUITY: Though customary but never expected, a 15-25% gratuity is greatly appreciated. This can be given to your stylists directly. REMARK: Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
WILL MY MAKEUP LAST?
Yes! We use top-of-the-line cosmetics. Our skincare, primers, and setting sprays ensure heat-resistant, transfer-resistant, long-lasting makeup for all occasions.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
Cash, check, or Venmo (immediately upon completion of makeup) are accepted forms of payment. Cash is preferred. If a check is returned by the bank due to non-sufficient funds (NSF), a $50 fee will be issued on top of bank fees. The final balance is due on the day of the event as one payment – no exceptions. The person(s) responsible for the payment is the person(s) who signed the booking contract.
HOW MUCH TIME IS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE MAKEUP APPLICATION?
Bridal and event makeup application will generally require 60-90 minutes. Attendants will take 45-60 minutes depending on style. We will provide multiple artists for any large parties if necessary.
LIABILITIES: MAKEUP MORTICIA uses high-quality cosmetics and will not be held liable in the event of skin irritations, breakouts or allergic reactions, etc. All brushes and makeup products are kept sanitary and will be cleaned before each client's makeup application. Any skin conditions, including allergies, must be reported to the makeup artist prior to any makeup application. All clients must agree to release MAKEUP MORTICIA from liability for any skin complications due to any reactions.
ADD-ONS: Additional clients added to the contract/service at the last moment are always welcome. MAKEUP MORTICIA can service any clients outside the contract if there is time to accommodate them. "Add-ons" will be bound by the same requirements as those listed on the contract for services.
TRAVEL AND PARKING: MAKEUP MORTICIA does not charge a travel fee to any location under a thirty (30) minute travel time within the 10704 ZIP code. For any time over thirty (30) minutes, a reasonable and fair travel fee will be added to the final bill. Hotel accommodations are required for artist(s) on the night before the wedding when travel is more than two hours one-way. Where parking, valet, or other fees may be incurred because of parking limitations or rules, the client will be held responsible for this payment. It will either be paid by the client before the makeup artist's arrival or it will be billed to the client on the day of service. DESTINATION: All costs for travel are to be paid by the client. Costs may include, but are not limited to airfare, hotel (2 or 3 nights depending on destination), transportation to and from the airport in the departing and destination city, per diem for meals if not all-inclusive, per diem for days traveling, service incidentals, and all taxes. Regular rates for makeup services apply in addition to the above travel terms.
PHOTO: I grant to MAKEUP MORTICIA the right to take photographs of me and/or family, attendants, and those receiving makeup services in connection with the agreed-upon event. I authorize transferees to copyright, use, and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that MAKEUP MORTICIA may use such photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.
CANCELLATIONS: Services may be canceled no later than ninety (90) days before the scheduled service or the client will be responsible for FULL PAYMENT of services booked on the contract.
DAMAGES: MAKEUP MORTICIA will not be held liable for any injuries that should arise while on location. The client agrees to indemnify and hold MAKEUP MORTICIA harmless from any claims of liability, losses, damages, or any expenses whatsoever as a result of any claims, demands, damages, costs, or judgments, including but not limited to claims based on negligence against it, that may arise in connection with services performed by the artist.
HAIR STYLISTS: Hair stylists can be supplied or referred to you by MAKEUP MORTICIA if you desire. However, the hairstylist is in no way a part of MAKEUP MORTICIA and we will not be held responsible for their actions or availability. We refer stylists as a courtesy to our clients and they are in no way a representation or reflection of MAKEUP MORTICIA or its counterparts.

SECURE YOUR DATE
A signed contract & retainer is required to secure your wedding date. A wedding date will not be held for anyone without a signed contract and retainer for services. The required retainer fee is 50% of the total contract balance. The retainer is non-refundable and non-transferable. The retainer will be deducted from the total due.
EARLY START FEE 45/hr
Request of an early start time before 8:30AM.
For an arrival time prior to 5:30AM, safe overnight hotel accommodations must also be provided for the previous night.
HOLIDAY BOOKINGS
A holiday service fee of 25% will be added to all services booked on the following:
New Years Eve, New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
TRAVEL FEE $0.62/per mile
